Handling and Recycling
Sliding Frame Discharge System
Saxlund Internationals original Sliding Frame discharge system
was first developed
and patented in 1972. The Sliding Frame covers the entire silo bottom
and discharges the layers of material in the order in which they
were introduced into the storage silo, i.e. first in first
out!
The Sliding Frame pushes the stored material into one or more openings
in the silo
bottom thereby creating mass flow which eliminates bridging
and allows the
material to flow at the desired maximum rate.
The Sliding Frame silo discharge system has no moving parts within
the silo other
than the reciprocal movement of the frame itself. The result is
that no direct
wear or machine element can come loose and cause damage within the
silo
or downstream equipment.
Maintenance accessibility is enhanced since all the serviceable
parts are
accessible from the outside of the silo.
Rotor Discharge Systems
The Saxlund International Rotor discharger units are a direct descendent
from the original Saxlund rotor first patented in 1952.
The system features an electromechanical driven rotor with hydraulic-actuated
feeder arms. The systems are designed for round silos up to 7 500
mm diameter.
Transport Equipment
Saxlund International has developed an extensive range of equipment
designed to handle many different types of material.
These equipment, among others, are available from Saxlund International.
Elevators
Screw conveyors
Vertical screw conveyors
Chain conveyors
Rotary feeders
Push Floor Discharge System
The Saxlund International Push Floor is designed for use with square
and rectangular
flat-bottom bunkers containing difficult to handle bulk
solid materials.
The heavy-duty Push Floor is specifically designed for heavy wet
and non free-flowing materials.
The design eliminates the typical rear wall packing problem often
found in rectangular bunkers and the material is always delivered
on a first in first out basis.
The Push Floor can be used to discharge the stored material to any
number of feeder/metering systems including screw conveyors, sludge
pumps, belt
conveyors or chain conveyors.
The Tubefeeder Discharge System
The unique patented Tubefeeder system consists of a screw conveyor
housed inside a rotating tube that serves to relieve external pressure
from the surrounding material. The tube rotates independently of
the screw and uniformly receives the bulk solids
through slots along the length of the tube.
The inner screw conveyor conveys the material to the end of the
tube where it
is discharged to a take-away conveyor.
The Tubefeeder can be used in conjunction with both round and rectangular
silos. This innovative system offers many advantages:

Recycling
Saxlund International has extensive experience in handling difficult
recycle
material. Saxlund equipment is in use for transporting and discharging
tires
(whole and/or shredded), garbage, plastic, gypsum, chips, etc..
